PAINTING TREES WITH CONFIDENCE
- This workshop is all about trees, starting with what to look for in your photos to create a good composition. We will focus on the importance of the shapes and the values when starting your painting; creating a pleasing composition; blocking in the big graphic shapes; blocking in shadows; portraying trees in the distance; how to handle those clusters of leaves, mixing greens and colours of bark.
- On the first day I will be guiding everyone through a simple painting of trees , from start to finish. We will also be doing some colour studies and simple charts of greens. I will be talking about what colours to use for shadow greens, sunlit greens and greens for distance.
- The second day will be your choice of photo reference. I will have lots of photos for everyone to use if you wish.
